TEACHING EXPERIENCE

PFF MICROLECTURE

I have taught Introduction to Psychology, Psychology Research Methods, and Cognitive Psychology at while a Graduate Student Teaching Fellow at Auburn University. I graduated with the AU College and University Teaching Graduate Certificate, which included a supervised teaching practicum. The frequent reflection, fruitful discussions with colleagues, and peer feedback required by the practicum have equipped me with more tools to keep students engaged and respond to new challenges in the classroom as I begin my courses at UT Tyler. In addition to the above courses, I am prepared to teach other courses in emotion and motivation, statistics, and scientific writing, among others.

To the right you will find a video of a microlecture I delivered in my Preparing Future Faculty course, as well as links to my statement of teaching philosophy, my practicum portfolio (including appraisals, observations, reflections, and student evaluations), and weekly teaching reflections from practicum. Students' evaluations have helped me to calibrate exam difficulty and create stronger links between different texts and assignments. Peer observation reports have prompted me to increase engagement with students in all areas of the classroom, as well as ask more questions during activities and lectures.  I also provide some sample course materials I encourage you to explore. Through such endeavors, I maintain high standards for my students, and provide the nurturing required to achieve them.
